Developing your personality
When we have the courage to lean into our edge and look at our triggers,we may find beliefs that no longer serve us and which have been subconsciously running our life for a very long time. Getting to the root of those limiting beliefs, constraints and false perceptions is one of the core elements of what personal development is all about. Through it, we can live more freely, tap into our inspiration and as a result live more aligned with our true purpose. By developing our personality, we can change how we perceive ourselves and the outside world, i.e. we change what we see as reality.
Prolonged struggle, stress and constant negativity make room for higher-level emotions & mindsets and with that, a more pleasurable experience of life.
Paying attention to your triggers
A great place to start this work is by paying attention each time you feel triggered and when you get upset about a certain person, circumstance or situation. Employ your curiosity and ask "What is this trying to show me?" or "How is this happening FOR me?", instead of feeling like a victim and then asking "Why does this happen to me?". The quality of the question you ask yourself determines the quality of your decisions, your perceptions and your actions, and ultimately makes up the quality of your life.
Knowing your core values
Another powerful tool is knowing your core values. Your values determine what you perceive, what you decide to do and how you act in life. Values act like a filter: they selectively bias important information according to your hierarchy of values, from most important to least important. This in turn influences your decisions and the actions you take will be most consistent with what you value most.
Making decisions and acting in alignment with your values will automatically lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful experience of life. You simply stop doing what is not important to you and spend more time doing the things that fan your flames, that feel inspiring and are congruent with your highest good. It's hard to overstate the importance your core values play in your lives so it'll be wise to know what they are.
